Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Identity Resolution Team are now cooperating with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to conduct operations in East Africa. Objective: To identify " bad actors "(KST for the known Suspected terrorists , the AIS special interest aliens ) traffickers, criminals, terrorists might try to go to the United States.
Nationals of several countries in East Africa are in the crosshairs: Kenyans, Tanzanians, Sudanese, Ugandans, Ethiopians, Somalis. But the Sahel and West Africa are now areas deemed sensitive.
In August 2012, experts in biometrics AFRICOM went to Pretoria to form ICE officials. A full-scale exercise was followed in September in Kenya, where local staff was also formed.
